NPR Books Watch — 6/4-6/10
One of these weeks I’m going to get around to a “real” post. Until then …

Anyone who emails me the imprints of all the books listed (or houses if no imprint is available) will win the NPR Books Grid for the prior week that includes, in addition to the information below, interviewer, pub date, imprint, genre, post-interview Amazon ranking, pre-interview ranking (if the book was mentioned on Shelf Awareness and I was able to look up the number before the interview), and interview hyperlink.
* indicates the interview is a rebroadcast.

As they say in the old South, what is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander….you reviewed Hampton Sides book “Hellhound on his Trail,” a terribly inaccurate and poorly written piece on James Earl Ray, surely you must review last year’s book “The 13th Juror, The Official Transcript of the Martin Luther King Assassination Civil Conspiracy Trial,” on Amazon books and throught the website MLKtheTruth.com. It is not only factual…it is completely under oath, subject to perjury, a first ever (trial transcript in book form. Why are there not more?) and with the ability to cast your verdict online at the conclusino as the proverbial 13th juror. Please advise why this isn’t and hasn’t been reviewed.
Actually, I don’t review any books on this blog — I simply report on what the national NPR shows have covered. I wish I could say why books are or are not covered, but the hosts and producers are the only ones who can answer those questions.
I never heard about some of these books but I like the fact that you report on what they are about, cometimes I get stuck and need ideas on what to read next, I will bookmark your blog and tell my classmates about it, some of these sound intriguing,
thanks for sharing!
